My gg grandmother, Honora Rice, was a patient there several times. She died there in 1893, but is not buried there.

Hi, God bless you for your concern and effort. Im In the Philippines right now but visited US lastl year to attend my Moms birthday. We trying to find my grand uncle from my mom side, since he left and went the US in 1925 his is only 27 then, and his whereabouts can not located. My grand mother and grand uncle are the only children of my great grand mother, My mom who is now 86 years old is the only living in their family. When I joined ancestry.com, heritage.com and findagrave.com that I discovered that he died in 1976 he was 76 then and buried in this place. and that is the only record that I gathered. I am trying to research what happen to him before he died and why he has there. Would you please direct me where can I check for the list of patients from 1925 up to 1976. Thank you so much.

Hello. This is wonderful and such an amazing resource for families trying to find ancestors. I am trying to see if my grandmother’s sister, Katherine, was at Willard. She had developed mental illness as a result of scarlet fever, and I believe that she was place in a mental institution in 1910 at the age of 12. According to what I can find she died in 1924 in either Groveland or Sonyea NY, so I am thinking maybe she was at Willard. Unfortunately, Inmates of Willard only goes up to 1900. Do you know if there are any new developments in accessing records, or a way to see if that is where she was? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hello! I have transcribed 1920 on the Census Page. You can also join Ancestry.com and look up 1910 census for Willard located in the towns of Ovid and Romulus, Seneca County. When I wrote the book and transcribed the censuses 10 years ago, the 1910 census was scanned so poorly that I couldn’t read it. Maybe it’s better now. First, do you know her death date? If so, get her death certificate from the state of New York. By 1910, I don’t believe that Willard held 12 year olds. Find out what city, county she lived in and go from there. Sincerely, Lin
