Pilgrim State Hospital & Cemetery

Pilgrim State Hospital served the counties of Brentwood, Suffolk, and New York. Pilgrim was the largest state hospital in New York State. At its peak in 1954 it held 13,875 patients.

    • Did you see any graves for the 1980/1990s my great grand-uncle died in Pligrm he went in the 1950/1960s I think he might have been buried in a cemetery somewhere near by but I not sure

          My great-grandfather is on the 1930 census in Manhattan State Hospital, the 1940 and 1950 census at Pilgrim State Hospital.

          Someone posted a death certificate #51169 for him on Ancestry, I sent away and was told there is no record. The name was Pasquale LIVERALI, misspelled the actual last name is LIBERALI. Town of Islip is no help, returned my check directing me to Albany.

          His date of death is listed as July 5, 1958
